Lots of Email of What happened

Ok lots of emails of what happened here is the deal...

This is just my bad experience with this company. I've used Shawn for tuning about two or three times. The first time I went to him the shop was hosting a dyno day, and we were told (by Shawn) that we would go first because we were coming from San Diego. Well, that did not happen. We got there at 0800 and didn’t leave the shop until 1500. Fine, I let that one go.
This last time we made appointments for 2 cars. My buddy and I took our cars up to him to get tuned, and just like the 1st time, we were there by 0800 as we were told to do by Shawn. We were driving up from San Diego, which is about an 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive. When we arrived for our appointment, Shawn was not around. We contacted him to tell him we already there. He said he will be there in 30 min. Ok, we waited. Then he calls back and says to go and eat breakfast; he is still running late. In the end he doesn’t end up showing up till 0945. After breakfast we called him to tell him we are waiting outside. He then proceeded to tell us Superior Automotive is tuning some cars before us. Two cars to be exact; the first one took 1 1/2 hours to tune, and the second one took 2 hours. We ended up going to lunch, and when we returned at about 1300 Shawn acts as though it was our fault we took long. I told my buddy to go first because he just got parts put on his car, and I was just there just to make sure my air/fuel was ok. It took him 1 hour to get one of our cars on the dyno, and he spent most of his time on his cell phone. The guys from Superior were even telling us that he b/s too much. Finally, he gets one of our cars done.
But, before all this (when we made our appointments), Shawn mentioned he would hook us up on the price, since we were returning customers and we have him and his company on our website. Superior Automotive has a sign that says $60 or $75 dollars for 2 pulls and air/fuel readout. This guy didn’t even do anything to my buddy's car - no changes, nothing. All Shawn said was the car was running good - that was it. Then he tells my buddy that it will be $150 dollars!! My buddy says, "What? You didn’t do anything and what about the sign that say $60-$75 for 2 pulls?" Shawn says ok and gets 80 dollars from my buddy 'cause my buddy is too nice and didn’t want to wait for change. Ok, I head out to get my car, because it was my turn (remember, we made 2 appointments for 8AM). HA, NOT! Shawn says he has OTHER appointments to do and, I would be AFTER them. At that point, after waiting all day (when I should have been taken care of by 8AM) and after the pricing stunt Shawn pulled on my buddy (trying to charge $150, when the sign says $60-$75 for 2 pulls),I just left and will never return.

I have recommended Shawn in the past because I have been happy with his quality of work. But, recently his level of customer service has been EXTREMELY poor (comes across as an "I don't give a F**K" attitude). In my opinion, quality of work and quality of service go hand-in-hand. BIG disappointment, and neither I nor my buddy will ever use him again.

Sorry, to hear about your situation. Unfortunately, I have heard quite a few horror stories about So-Cal Tuning. That's why Greg @ RET tunes my truck from here on out. I don't want to deal with crappy service. Later.

That's too bad Emilio. Sorry to hear about your problems with Shawn. It's too bad Superior gets pulled into his spin of things. They tend to do a good job of customer service with their own work and customers.
There are plenty of tuners in socal to choose from and not having to deal with crappy service. There is Greg, Steve, and I believe DPR down in your neck of the woods.......

dgussin1 I have been in the mustang scence for a long time. I am originally from Texas and we have more tracks than 7/11's. I had one of the first 03 cobra to come out and followed svtperformance for a long time. Lots of local Californias use to go to Shawn like my myself. I have read all the post people have left for him. I was even on his side because he for some reason did not do me wrong. Maybe because I was founder and President of Wicked Stangs which was one of the newest mustang clubs back then except for San Diego Mustang Club which as been around even longer. Now I see what everyone was talking about and what he did to me last month. That is the reason I am writing this post.

Woah, haven't heard a "Shawn Ellis gave me crappy customer service" story in so long I figured he had stopped tuning.

I never got a tune from him but he parked his Z06 is my pit spot at Famoso.

He wasn't even racing. I guess the jack, tires, spare tire, drink cooler, chairs, tire iron, and tool kit I left in the parking spot while I went and made a pass weren't enough of a hint for him to tell that the spot was already taken.

Had a very similar experience with him...never said anything about it b/c I never went back.

He's either a joke of a tuner or has some serious problems.

Wickedstangs, if you have any questions about my experience, PM me.

Shawn has no regard for anyone's time but his own.
